The Taxonomy Browser supports centralized management of Tag based classification hierarchies within the Experience Manager.
The Tagging service provides two approaches to add tags to resources:
Content contributors can apply defined tags to content or media assets but cannot edit the classification hierarchy or the Tags themselves. Defined Tags ensure enterprise consistency, reduce redundancy and typos that weaken automation.
Contributor controlled tags ensure that content and resources can be classified according to the unique business requirements of content Contributors.
All tags are grouped in a Parent- Child relationship. Such hierarchies allow taxonomies to be built. These taxonomies are global throughout Content Manager.
Tags can be created and their taxonomy modified by members with taxonomy privileges who have modification rights to “Taxonomy Browser”.
Tags are used by the Search Component to facilitate finding content.
